Ash Xavier

Ash Xavier is a 90 pound dilute-factored black Labrador Retriever.  He is retired from our breeding program, but continues to be our loved family pet.

IMG_5374.jpg

Luna Red

Luna Red is a 82 pound Dudley Fox Red Labrador Retriever.  She is excellent with our children, is super submissive, and is highly intelligent.  She is being retired from our breeding program in December 2023, but her daughter, Ember, is carrying on her great genetics that contain multiple Master & Senior hunters in the pedigree. Luna will continue to be our loved family pet after she is retired.

Bolt

Maskrod's White Lightning "Bolt" is a 90 pound dilute yellow (champagne) Labrador Retriever.  He has a very friendly and outgoing temperament, and is the most intelligent in his pack.  As a puppy, he was house broken in less than a week, and he learned to open doors by the latch as soon as he was tall enough to reach!   Because he is a dilute dog, all of his pups with Ember will be dilute factored.

Ember

Maskrod's Chocolate Ember is daughter to Luna and stud dog Harwood's Grizzly.  She is a beautiful chocolate lab with a great disposition and intelligence. Because she has Senior and Master Hunters in her pedigree, her pups make excellent hunting dogs and trained therapy dogs.  She can produce black chocolate, yellow, Dudley, and Fox Red puppies with Bold. Scroll to the next section for details on Ember's puppies.  To reserve one of Ember's puppies, send us a Facebook Message or an email.

Our Puppies

-Luna should be having her final heat in late September, with puppes due in mid-to-late November 2023. Her puppies from this litter will all be various shades of yellow from champagne to fox red.

-Ember should deliver her next litter of black, chocolate, yellow, Dudley, and Fox Red puppies in early 2024.

Pics of our past puppies are available each week on our Facebook page. Luna and Ember have strong hunting lines-Master and Senior Hunters in their pedigree-so their pups will make ideal hunting companions or very easy to train family pets! Breeding rights (unlimited registration) cost an additional $200 and are awarded on a case by case basis.  Owner must show aptitude in ethical breeding practices and provide references from previous clients and current veterinarian to be considered. This is not because we want to control what you do with your dog, but because we want to offer our puppies the best possible future and be sure that we are breeding responsibly by also encouraging others to breed responsibly!

-Price: $1000 UNLESS deposits are received prior to delivery of your puppy (Cost $800 if reserved early).  We also offer coupons at many local charity auctions.  These coupons cannot be stacked or combined with an early deposit discount.  To see what is included in the price of your puppy, read the "reservations" section below.  Breeding rights (unlimited registration) cost an additional $200 and are awarded on a case by case basis.  Owner must show aptitude in ethical breeding practices to be considered. We will also introduce potty training and basic command training at 6 weeks.

RESERVATIONS:

-Our prices include the following: bimonthly deworming from 2 weeks, immunizations from 7-8 weeks, vet visit with medical record, parent pedigrees (if requested), AKC registration papers, and free breeder support available throughout the life of your dog.  Your completed registration includes options for an official pedigree, another free vet visit, & free pet insurance.  Pups must be paid in full before paperwork will be transferred.  Our puppies are bathed regularly, played with every day, and are very well socialized with our 5 children, dogs, and cats.  They also spend time both indoors and outdoors (free range on 3 acres), and are kenneled ONLY at night for their safety.  We can complete puppy temperament testing and begin basic command training and potty training if requested.

-To reserve a puppy, please email us or send us a private message on Facebook.  We require a $300 NON-refundable deposit to hold a puppy.  The $300 is applied to the total cost, and we will NOT cash checks until puppies are born. (If you are a recipient of a coupon from our local wrestling, baseball, or football fundraising auctions, your $300 coupon can serve as your deposit.)  If something changes, deposits can be applied to a future litter, but coupons MUST be used for the litter written on the coupon.  While you wait for your puppy, we encourage you to visit.  We will also post regular pictures and updates, and we will be playing with him or her daily to ensure that he or she is socialized well by the time you meet!

About the Breed

Labrador Retrievers are America's favorite breed, known for their  intelligence, loyalty, and friendly temperaments.  They socialize well with people and animals, and although gentle, they have lots of energy, requiring frequent exercise and human interaction.  They usually live 11-14 years and make excellent pets, service dogs, and trained hunting companions.

Labs come in a wide range of colors-- the common black, chocolate, and yellow, as well as the rare variations of these three AKC recognized colors.  A recessive pigmentation gene produces both the deep, rich color in Fox Red labs and the pink nose and light eyes of Dudley labs.  A dilute gene produces the charcoal, champagne, and silver labs.

There are two main body styles for Labrador Retrievers.  English style labs have a blocky head and stout body, usually topping out between 70-95 pounds.  American style labs have a slim snout and leaner body.  They grow to be between 55-80 pounds.  Both types are genetically the same breed, and grow to stand about 2 feet tall.

If you are interested in adding a Labrador Retriever to your family, we would be more than happy to answer questions about the breed or to host you at our 3 acre home where you can meet our dogs and puppies.  Please do your research though--this breed needs LOTS of attention and activity to stay happy and healthy.   It is also important to decide which temperament will best suit your family.  Temperament, rather than color or gender, should be the first consideration when choosing a puppy. Click here for some things to consider when trying to determine if a lab is right for your family.
